The 2022 BMW M4 CSL looks to be the spiritual successor to the brand's own E46 M3 CSL, thanks to its design and styling. Yet, the latest M model takes the carbon fiber styling a lot further than the M3 CSL. The M4 CSL features not only a carbon-fiber roof, but also a carbon fiber bonnet for extra luxury and also to help excel in its performance.
Moreover, other design features that are new for the M4 CSL are its red accents around the grille, side skirts, and hood. Plus, BMW is using their old BMW M logo on the exterior to give it that old-school feel.
Underneath the carbon fiber bonnet is the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six. Plus, the M model also features the same rear-wheel-drive setup and transmission as before. Yet, the ECU is upping its game so that the driver can enjoy a whopping 550 horsepower. This engine will also help the M4 CSL reach 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than an M4 Competition.

As Mat Watson on the carwow YouTube channel says, this has to be the best M model from BMW yet. Not only is it a special edition to celebrate a huge milestone, but it is also unlike any other M4 that has come out of the garage.
It can offer more horsepower than other M models, as well as a quicker 0 to 60 mph time, but it also offers the best top speed. It can deliver 191 mph, which is 11 mph quicker than an M4 Competition. On the topic of speed, it is also the fastest production BMW ever around the Nurburgring ring, with a time of 7 minutes and 20 seconds.
Overall, there is a lot to love about the new BMW M4 CSL. It is quick, it is powerful, and it is special. Only 1,000 will be in production, making them even more desirable and worthy of the 'best M model' title.
